Today, Monday 1 December, saw the first Outwood Primary Academies Times Table Challenge event held at the Outwood Grange Academy Conference Centre.
The event was organised by Miss Alexander, OPA's Lead Maths Teacher, and followed on from a very successful Level 6 maths challenge event held last week at OPA Ledger Lane alongside CeCe, a maths teacher based in Shanghai, who has been working across the three OPA as part of a national Maths Hub project.
Two teams were entered from each of the OPAs (Lofthouse Gate, Kirkhamgate and Ledger Lane), a year 5 and a year 6 team, and they were challenged with a series of increasingly difficult multiplication problems and word problems over 6 rounds.
It was a very close run affair but both our teams were successful in winning their respective age groups.
A massive congratulations to all involved and a big thank you to Miss Alexander and Outwood Grange Academy for organising and hosting the event.
